Dating back to 1987, beginning with Miss Stargazer, this visionary entrepreneur has grown by leaps and bounds, elevating the world of beauty pageants to an-eagerly-awaited event, year after year. Tirelessly, he continues to utilize experience in the successful organization of more than 30-beauty pageants at national and international level.

With more than decade of experience in helping others realize their dream, Datuk Danny Ooi has successfully crowned more than 76 Miss Malaysia and 50 International Beauty Queen. A recorded unmatched by others! The excellent track record has enable him to acquire even more International Franchises in the world of beauty pageants.

His effort has seen the development of 2 home-grown international beauty pageants, Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International (formerly known as Queen of the Year International) and Miss Tourism International, both attract more than 30 countries from around the continents each year.

Today, the franchise of Miss Tourism Queen Of The Year International and Miss Tourism International have reached more than 50 countries around the world.

“I have seen and realized the positive aspect of a beauty pageant. Each year, we invite beauty queen from around the world to our country and this has further promoted cultural exchange among participating countries and enhance tourism promotions….” Said Datuk Danny Ooi.

Beauty pageants organized by him are not ordinary affairs. “Watching a beauty pageant show is about visual effects. It’s like a good movie, bringing you a story.”

“Beauty queens are ambassadresses of their respective countries. A responsibility well dispended, as these beauties shine through, physically and spiritually. They demonstrate beauty and intelligent are equality important.” Said Datuk Danny Ooi.

The Malaysia Book of Records came to be when Datuk Danny Ooi took it upon himself to record achievement and feats by Malaysians that would otherwise have slipped by us unnoticed. It would be good, he told himself way back 1989, if these achiever could share their accomplishments with not only their family and friends, but with the nation as a whole.

When his concept and vision came to fruition in the forming of The Malaysian Book of Records, it started a record “revolution:, one that had Malaysian outdoing each other in breaking and creating records, overcoming the impossible and making themselves heard not just within the homeland also the world.

Joining the LIONS CLUB INTERNATIONAL since 1991, he has participated and organized various LIONS community and service project.

For his enthusiasms and making a difference among Malaysians, Datuk Danny Ooi was conferred “Panglima Jasa Negara” which carries the title of “Datuk” by His Majesty, the di-Pertuan Agong, King of Malaysian on 11th July 2002.
